My Story
Integrative School Health Approach
I provide leadership in school health services with a focus on supporting the whole person, including physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I develop programs and policies grounded in collaboration, evidence-based practice, and a holistic perspective. My work includes initiatives that enhance preventive care, strengthen school health systems, and create inclusive environments where students, staff, and families can thrive.
My Philosophy
For me, school health leadership is about fostering connection, support, and safety. It is not just about managing illness, but creating systems that promote wellness, resilience, and inclusion. I believe that optimal health encompasses mind, body, and emotional balance, and I strive to integrate these elements into every aspect of the school environment.
Education and Experience
I have a background in neuroscience and nursing, along with National Certification in School Nursing (NCSN). With over 15 years of experience in critical care, patient advocacy, and educational health leadership, I bring a unique perspective to school health. My experiences in high-acuity nursing environments, combined with my work leading wellness initiatives in educational settings, inform a holistic approach that bridges healthcare and education.
Personal Inspiration
My professional journey from neuroscientist to ICU nurse to school health leader has shaped my commitment to nurturing the whole person. I am inspired by the resilience of students, educators, and families, and by the opportunity to create systems that support well-being, prevent burnout, and foster thriving communities.
Current Practice
I lead school health initiatives that focus on comprehensive wellness, including preventive care, mental health support, and programs that enhance the overall experience of students and staff. I specialize in integrating healthcare with educational policies to create safe, inclusive, and health-promoting environments. My goal is to build programs that not only address immediate health needs but also cultivate long-term resilience and community well-being.
