Educational Advocacy Services at
Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry

IEP & 504 Plan Support

  • Review existing IEP or 504 plan documents to ensure they reflect the student’s strengths and challenges

  • Clarify school evaluations and recommendations for families and legal professionals

  • Develop specific goals, accommodations, and supports aligned with documented needs

  • Ensure mental health and neurodivergent needs are reflected in educational plans​​​​​​

Meeting Preparation & Participation

  • Prepare families and clients for IEP, 504, or school team meetings

  • Attend meetings (in person or virtually) to support advocacy

  • Coach parents, students, and professionals on effective communication with school staff

Executive Function & Academic Coaching

  • Support planning, organization, time management, and task follow-through

  • Strengthen study skills, classroom engagement, and academic confidence

  • Assist with transitions from one educational setting to another (e.g., middle to high school, high school to college)

Liaison & Coordination Support

  • Translate clinical or neurodevelopmental reports for school planning

  • Collaborate with families, educators, clinicians, and legal professionals

  • Assist in follow-up and implementation of agreed accommodations

Empowerment &
Self-Advocacy

  • Teach older students to advocate for accommodations and communicate their needs

  • Educate parents and legal professionals about educational rights, protections, and navigating policies

Ongoing Support & Resources

  • Guide families to additional educational resources and tools

  • Provide continuous coaching or check-ins as student needs evolve

Support for Legal Professionals

  • Provide guidance and recommendations for lawyers navigating cases involving educational planning, accommodations, or student needs

  • Act as a resource for attorneys seeking expert input on IEPs, 504 plans, or academic support considerations
