我的故事
Integrative Psychiatric Approach
I take an integrative, whole-person approach to mental health and wellness that honors the connection
between mind, body, environment, and lived experience. My work is grounded in the belief that
emotional well-being is shaped not only by internal factors, but also by learning environments, family
systems, and the daily demands placed on children and caregivers.
By bridging education and mental health perspectives, I support collaborative, individualized care that
helps children, adolescents, and families better understand challenges, reduce stress, and move toward
balance, resilience, and sustained well-being.
My Philosophy
My philosophy of care centers on compassion, collaboration, and respect for each individual’s unique
journey. I believe healing begins when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported within
systems that prioritize dignity, strengths, and choice.
I work alongside families and care teams to promote insight, empowerment, and practical strategies
that support emotional regulation, self-advocacy, and long-term wellness—especially for families
navigating complex school and support systems.
Education and Experience
I hold a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) with advanced training in curriculum and instruction, learning
science, and systems-level improvement. My academic background informs my understanding of how
cognitive, emotional, and environmental factors intersect to influence mental health, learning, and
behavior.
I am also the co-author of Equity Implementation: Case Studies and Practices for Educators and Leaders,
which focuses on building responsive, inclusive systems that support the whole person.
Personal Inspiration
As a parent, I bring lived experience, empathy, and deep respect for the challenges families face when supporting children’s emotional and academic well-being. Navigating school systems, advocating for accommodations, and caring for mental health can feel overwhelming without guidance and partnership.
This personal perspective shapes my commitment to family-centered care and to supporting parents as informed, empowered collaborators in their child’s overall wellness.
Professional Experience
I bring over 25 years of experience as an education administrator, consultant, and program leader working across K–12, higher education, nonprofit, and community-based settings. My professional work includes extensive experience supporting IEP and 504 planning, collaborating with educators, clinicians, and families to ensure accommodations and supports align with both academic and emotional needs.
Through my leadership of Optimal Learning Solutions, I have partnered with organizations nationwide to design programs and practices that promote wellness, student success, and sustainable, person-centered outcomes.
Current Practice
At Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry, I offer consultation and support that complements integrative psychiatric care by addressing educational, environmental, and family-system factors that impact mental health. I collaborate with clinicians, families, and care teams to provide insight into school-based stressors, learning accommodations, and advocacy strategies that support emotional balance and whole-person wellness across home, school, and community settings.
