My Story
Integrative Psychiatric Approach
At Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry, I bring more than twenty years of experience in education, leadership, and student development to my role as an academic and career coaching specialist. My work is grounded in the belief that academic success and emotional well-being are deeply connected. I support adolescents and young adults in navigating educational challenges, career exploration, and executive functioning through a holistic, strengths-based approach. By collaborating with psychiatric providers, families, and educators, I help students build confidence, resilience, and clarity in their personal and academic journeys.
Philosophy of Care
I believe that every student deserves a pathway that reflects their unique strengths, interests, and needs. My coaching philosophy centers on student voice, equity, and individualized success. Whether reviewing an IEP, developing a postsecondary plan, or supporting executive functioning, I approach each student with empathy, structure, and a commitment to helping them thrive. I prioritize clear communication, family engagement, and data-informed strategies that promote both academic achievement and emotional wellness.
Education
My academic background reflects a lifelong dedication to education and leadership. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English from Anna Maria College, followed by a Master’s in Education from Fitchburg State University. I later completed a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Education and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Johnson and Wales University. I hold multiple certifications from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, including Superintendent, Principal and Assistant Principal, Supervisor and Director, English, and Instructional Technology.
Professional Experience
Throughout my career, I have designed and led programs that connect students to postsecondary opportunities through academic coaching, career planning, and personalized learning. My work includes IEP review and advocacy, curriculum development, and the implementation of systems that promote equity and access. I also teach and mentor educators, helping schools build inclusive, student-centered environments that support both academic and emotional growth.
Personal Inspiration
My passion for education is rooted in a deep commitment to helping young people discover their strengths and define their own success. I am inspired by the resilience of students and families navigating complex educational systems and life transitions. My work is driven by a desire to make those systems more responsive, inclusive, and empowering. I believe that when students are supported holistically - academically, emotionally, and socially - they are better equipped to thrive in school and beyond.
Current Practice
At Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry, I provide academic and career coaching, IEP review and advocacy, executive functioning support, and postsecondary planning for adolescents and young adults. My work bridges education and mental health, ensuring that students receive the guidance and tools they need to succeed in both academic and personal domains. I am proud to be part of a team that values whole-person care and is committed to helping individuals build meaningful, purpose-driven lives.
